I got a call back from MS Support last night, but since it came through as "unknown" on my caller ID, I missed it. I tried going online and to download from there...same thing.I am running XP Ver 3. Paul Edit: The download from the MS driver site is newer than the installation disk that came with the mouse. During my investigation into this, I've seen other people with the 64bit version tell me the same thing....no issues.

I look forward to any additional ideas from anyone. There will be a solution at some time in the form of an update or a new mouse driver version in the future. Last night I did a clean up and deleted some duplicate files. But I've upgraded the mouse to their new blue laser Explorer mouse & love that.

  1. You may need your Win 7 disc, though most of the time you don't.

I believe there is something haywire with the Win 7 upgrade that I did. version. It's got to be some service or other important system file that is wrong. Last edited by ups4; April 23rd, 2010 at 04:13 PM.

The SYSTEM account does not have Full Control permissions on the folder that you are trying to install the Windows Installer package to. This in and of itself may be part of the problem? This is also the only board i've seen that's actually discussing the issue haha. Installing the software is required for full functionality. I thought I did try and change the permissions for the Intellipoint software, but I may not have been too thorough.
